Sapwood two face, surfaced two face and very nicely figured. There are some areas of light gray natural stain on both faces that would probably not be visible if the wood was stained a darker color. One piece has some wane along one edge of the pictured face that reduces the usable width to 4 3/4" at the narrowest point that isn't visible on the second face.
