Heartwood one face with darker sapwood along the edges of the pictured face. Surfaced two face and very nicely figured. There is a 3" closed knot along one edge of the second face near the center of the board that opened up a stable drying crack. There is also 18" of wane along one edge of the pictured face at the end of the board that reduces the usable width to 10 7/8" at the narrowest point.
