We take pride in offering a wide variety of kiln-dried slabs and flitches that can be either surfaced or left in a rough-sawn state, depending on your needs. Most of these selections can be shipped within two days, facilitating timely project execution.
Additionally, we occasionally stock beautiful steel-bound white oak barrels sourced from some of America's esteemed distilleries. These post-production barrels are in excellent condition, featuring polished exteriors and occasionally maker's branding makers' branding, making them ideal for various uses beyond their original purpose.
When you purchase our slabs and flitches, rest assured that: - Each piece has been kiln-dried to enhance stability.
- Sizes are typically measured at one end, the middle, and the opposite end, accounting for any wider than normal variances.
- Some selections have been partially flattened and surfaced to remove twists and bows, ensuring that both faces are near parallel. However, additional surfacing, scraping, or sanding may be required before final use.
- While most rough selections can be flattened for a nominal charge, please note that this process may result in losses in thickness of up to ¾ inch.
- We strive to accurately represent above-average defects in the material; however, end checking, drying cracks, bark inclusions, wormholes, and varying degrees of bark retention along the edges may still be present.
All selections are carefully shipped via a common carrier. Shipping costs will be determined after the sale based on the weight and dimensions of the piece, and each item will be wrapped in protective packaging, securely mounted to a pallet, and shipped to ensure its safe arrival.
