This picture was taken in 1910 at one of the many lumber mills on the Susquehanna. Perhaps the better question would be "how did they get up there in the first place"?
Nature's Best Curly Cherry
PLEASE READ IMPORTANT FACTS ABOUT OUR CURLY CHERRY.
Curly cherry does not have the same type of figure as curly maple and it is very difficult to find outstanding figure. As with any figured wood you have varying degrees of figure...some good, some better and the best. This is especially true in curly cherry. Quality figure appears in less than 2% of all the cherry trees harvested. In order to bring you the finest figured cherry possible, we have decided to custom pick 0.5% of all the quality figured curly cherry available to us or only about 1 board in 200 curly cherry boards!
We follow a set of standards to ensure that our customers get the very best figured material available:
First....the board must have above average figure throughout the entire board.
Second....most of my selection falls in the FAS lumber grade which is the best available.
Third....the board must have at least 80% heartwood on one face but most of our selection is 100% heartwood on both faces with ocasionally a mixture of heartwood and sapwood on the other face. The up side is that you, the customer , can be assured of the finest figured material available....anywhere! We of course back this material with a money back guarantee of satisfaction as advertised.
